Content and inbound links form the basis of the search engines ranking system. The search engine algorithms use the quality and quantity of content (mostly text) and inbound links to decipher what your website "is about" and how much authority it should be assigned.

It's important to build content into your website that utilizes a broad range of words and phrases that that are related to your theme. As the new pages are created it's important that they are linked in a way that informs the search engine for what keywords to index the web page for.
